Remote Viewing of Mars: A Declassified CIA Session from May 22, 1984
A declassified session held by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on May 22, 1984, documents a remote viewing exercise conducted as part of the Stargate Project. The individual involved in this session reported detailed observations of Mars approximately one million years before present.
The subject, through the technique of remote viewing, described Mars during that period as a dying world, once home to an advanced civilization now facing extinction. According to the account, vast megalithic structures were present across the planet’s surface, including massive, smooth pyramids and monumental stone walls erected in depressions and canyons.
The inhabitants were reported to be exceptionally tall individuals—approximately double the height of contemporary humans—with slender builds. They wore form-fitting clothing. The civilization was undergoing a severe geological catastrophe, with extreme dust storms contributing to environmental decline. Many individuals appeared to be in a state of suspended animation, preserved within functional chambers inside the pyramids, awaiting rescue.
The remote viewer also reported observing a group attempting to flee Mars via a metallic craft that emitted a reflective glow. This vessel departed toward a volatile region characterized by active volcanoes and unusual vegetation—features often interpreted as analogous to early Earth conditions.
Additional details included an extensive network of deep-grooved channels, roads, and aqueduct-like structures carved into valleys, indicating sophisticated civil engineering. These features were described as part of a widespread infrastructure system.
The full transcript from this session was made publicly available in 2017 through the CIA’s Reading Room database, providing access to these declassified observations for further study.
